Adek - A complete aluminium, noncombustible decking system

The team from Ecodek and the Epwin Group PLC behind the design of the new Adek Balcony and Terrace Systems have put their combined industry expertise in to play by delivering a complete and comprehensive non-combustible decking system.

Answering the newest Building Regulations surrounding the non-combustibility of the building envelope, the lightweight Adek non-combustible aluminium decking system has been designed with the practicalities of everyday living in mind.

The Adek System has been designed to include non-combustible aluminium bearers, adjustable pedestals, end plates, edge trims and additional support legs – the combination of these will depend on the application and profiles selected.

It is our aim to make the journey of specification through to installation a seamless process, and one far simpler than having to find several different manufacturers or suppliers to the various required elements.

Although Adek Comfort Grip and Enhanced Grip are new products to the market, Ecodek, the driving force behind these aluminium decking systems, has a long-standing pedigree in the supplying boards to commercial balcony and roof terrace projects.

This in-depth knowledge and experience is reflected within the design of Adek, with features including:

• Both wide span profiles for rapid installation plus narrow equivalents allowing flexibility in refurbishment projects
• Different profile depths to allow for minimum threshold height options
• Concealed face fixings for easy replacement of boards in situ via replaceable channel covers
• The added benefit the replaceable channel covers allowing the concealment of residual holes following the use of lifting eyes bolts in off-site construction of prefabricated balconies.
• Foot friendly finishes to provide the homeowner with a safe and durable outdoor space they will want to use

Coupled with this, the team have also developed new bearers and adjustable pedestals, specifically designed to work with the Adek boards to offer a complete non-combustible system, making specification through to installation a seamless process, and one far simpler than having to find several different manufacturers or suppliers to the various required elements.

Bearers – Non-combustible aluminium bearers designed especially for use with all Adek boards.

Pedestals – A range of fully adjustable aluminium pedestals that work with all Adek boards.

Fixings – Adek systems are supplied with specific screws for fixing the boards and the associated components.

End Plates (Enhanced Grip) – To create a neat finish to Enhanced Grip boards, end plates screw fix into integrated screw ports, which are found in the length of the board.

Universal End Trim (Comfort Grip) – These trims create a neat finish to Comfort Grip boards and can be used with both the 20mm and 30mm depths as well as 147mm and 295mm widths.
