Adek Systems, perfect for balconies and roof terraces.
Many balconies are prefabricated and craned into position using removable eyebolts that are screwed into the main balcony frame from above. With most decking systems this necessitates leaving one or more boards out of place (a practice that is impossible with interlocking deck systems) while the lift and installation takes place. Whether using Adek Comfort or Enhanced Grip, the fixing channels are wide enough to allow eye bolts with a diameter of up to 40mm to be fixed through the board into the frame (UK patent application number 1915433.5). Once the balcony has been securely installed the eyebolts can be removed and the channel cover snapped into place concealing the now redundant hole.
When it comes to covering larger roof terrace areas both Adek Comfort Grip and Enhanced Grip are available in a wide span 295mm board. The 20mm depth board can be fixed at 600mm centres but the slightly deeper 30mm profile can be fixed at 1200mm centres both with a point load of 4KN. Either variant allows larger decking areas to be covered quickly, minimising installation time on site. The Adek 295mm boards can also be ripped lengthways on-site for a perfect fit. The specially designed support leg can be fitted along the cut edge providing not only the required structural support but a neat, safe finish to the cut edge. Years of expertise in decking for high-rise developments.
Although Adek Comfort Grip and Enhanced Grip are new products to the decking market, Ecodek the driving force behind these aluminium decking systems, have a long-standing pedigree in the supplying decking to commercial balcony and roof terrace projects.
Royal Wharf is just one example where Ecodek products have been used extensively throughout a high rise complex – primarily within the balconies that have been constructed off-site, and then delivered to site and installed as completed “bolt-on” solutions – this reducing build time and increasing efficiencies.
Adek Comfort Grip
Adek Comfort Grip range offers a sleek and modern aesthetic with boards that will add architectural interest to any installation, whether a compact & bespoke balcony design or large commercial roof terrace.
The unique Comfort Grip finish means the end user will find the flooring ‘foot friendly’, a smooth finish while offering excellent anti-slip properties.
Offering four profile variations that will adapt to any design, the Adek Comfort Grip means specification for a new build development or refurbishment to existing buildings will be quick, simple and satisfy not only developers or building management companies, but also the home or business owner.
Adek Enhanced Grip
Adek Enhanced Grip range includes a low profile (1mm) raised ridge running the full length of the boards.
These ridges provide an alternative and more commercial aesthetic for the Adek system. The chamfered shoulders of the ridges mean the boards are still comfortable underfoot while providing exceptionally high levels of slip resistance.
With the flexibility of board widths available and the additional support leg options, the Adek system is ideal in new-build or refurbishment sectors – whether a compact & bespoke balcony design or large commercial roof terrace.
This knowledge and experience is reflected within the design of Adek with features such as; wide span boards for rapid installation, concealed face fixings for easy replacement of boards in situ, as well as integral eye bolt lifting points for off-site construction of prefabricated balconies.
The customer service team behind Adek are also more than familiar with the intricacies of decking requirements into commercial projects. They are on hand to provide design and specification advice as well as manage deliveries into often time sensitive construction sites.
